| 25 Dec Sunday | Xmas Day. I had lots of presents. A watch from Grandad, and a gun, a cowboy hat, a diary two magnets and a lot of other things. I found 6d in Nana's Xmas pudding. |
| 26 Dec Monday | Boxing Day. We went to Janet's for coffee and to Grandad's for lunch. My watch loses ten minutes a day. |
| 27 Dec Tuesday | We came home today. We had lunch at a new café on the motorway. It was very cold and frosty. |
| 28 Dec Wednesday | It rained nearly all day and we played in the house with our toys. We set all our sweets out on trays. We had our new boats in the bath. |

| 17 Mar Friday | Daddy picked me up on the way to school. Most of the frogsawn has hatched out in Class One. A big boy left his bike at our house when his chain broke. |
| 18 Mar Saturday | We found a hedge-hog near the old burnt house and bought it home in a carrier-bag. We made a little camp for it. |
| 19 Mar Sunday | In the night the hedge-hog has left the camp. We looked all over the place for him but he has gone. |

| 24 May Wednesday | It was very sunny and we spent the whole day on Sidmouth Beach below Jacob's Ladder. Christopher went floating the rubber ring for the first time. We all go a bit sunburnt. A calf was born on the farm. |
| 25 May Thursday | We had lunch by the River Otter and threw stones in for a farmer's dog to fetch. We saw an aircraft-carrier and looked round a pottery in Torquay. |
| 26 May Friday | It was cold so we went for a long walk along the beach at Sidmouth. We went around Hembury Fort and round another pottery at Honition. We came back early to watch the milking. |
| 27 May Saturday | We came home today through Cheddar Gorge. We saw a big white horse cut in the chalk on a hill-side. |
| 28 May Sunday | This morning we played with Michael on the buildings. Tonight Daddy started to mend my bike. |
